Full Day Rental Fees and Information $50 per day plus $100 refundable deposit. A 5.5% Wisconsin sales tax will be added The City of Columbus will cash your deposit check. Non-profits: With proof of a 501c3 will receive at 50% reduction on a full day rental price and will be tax exempt. A full deposit of $100 will still be required.
Rental hours at 6:00 am - 10:00 pm. Half Day rentals are not available.
If you reservation is requested less than 60 days from the day of your requested reservation, payment must be made in full. Full payment requires payment of rent, Wisconsin sales tax and deposit. If your reservation request is made more than 60 days from the date of your requested reservation, the balance payment of rent and sales tax is due 60 days from the date of your request.
Reservations are granted to persons 18 & over only. Reservations are accepted on a first come, first-served basis and must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance. Open air shelters can be reserved May 1 - Mid-October, annually. Dates requested beyond these dates are dependent on the weather.
Rental Policies FEES: All fees are payable in advance. If a reservation is cancelled less than 30 days before the event, no refund will be granted. If the reservation is canceled more than 30 days before the event, the City of Columbus will deduct a $25 administration fee from your deposit and/or payment of rent and Wisconsin sales tax and will return the balance. RESERVATION CHANGES: The shelter or date reserved can be changed prior to your event, depending upon availability, by contacting the Columbus Recreation office. There will be a $5.00 service fee assessed each time a change is performed. KEYS: Key Pick Up: Keys can be picked up from the Columbus Recreation Department office as early as 2 business days prior to the reservation date. Key Return: Keys shall be returned to the Columbus Recreation Department following the event. They can be placed in the drop box located at 229 E School Street or returned in person during office hours within 48 hours following your event. There is a $100.00/key replacement fee for all keys not returned. ON THE DAY OF YOUR EVENT: Take the permit and receipt to the shelter. Shelters are reserved to 1 party per day. If someone is using the shelter upon your arrival, politely tell them that you have it reserved, show them your permit and receipt and ask them to leave. If they refuse to leave, notify the Police Department at 623-5919 immediately. PARK HOURS: City parks are open 7 days per week, 6:00am-10:00pm. You are not allowed in the park prior to or after these published hours. TENTS/AIR SUPPORTED STRUCTURES (BOUNCE HOUSES)/STAKES: Anything to be driven into the ground requires contact with Diggers Hotline by calling 811 for line location 3 business working days prior to your event. The City of Columbus will not call Diggers Hotline for you. Failure to do so may result in full deposit loss. CLEAN-UP SUPPLIES: For rental of an Outdoor shelter, bring a broom, dustpan, cleaning supplies, sturdy see-through garbage bags, etc. to clean the shelter area before leaving. All debris must be placed in the waste receptacles upon conclusion of the event. If waste receptacles are full, place extra debris in a garbage bag and leave closed garbage bags next to waste receptacles. Do not put hot coals from grilling in the dumpsters or garbage bags. You are responsible leaving the shelter in a clean, damage free condition upon the conclusion of the event. Any clean-up and/or repair costs will be assessed to the permit signer. SHELTER/BUILDING APPEARANCE: No changes in the physical appearance of a shelter/building shall occur, including placing nails or staples in the woodwork or picnic tables. Damages will be assessed to the permit signer. PICNIC TABLES: Picnic Tables are available. If the tables are moved, they must be placed in their original place or costs of $1o per table will be assessed to the permit signer. GRILLING: Grills are not supplied at the open shelter, you may supply your own. Grilling is not allowed underneath or within 20' of a shelter or tent. If using a charcoal girl, when done grilling, let coals burn down. Do not dispose of hot coals in the dumpsters or garbage bags. Bring a water source with you to cool coals down per the Columbus Fire Department. Water source must be within 5 feet of the grill. ELECTRICAL OUTLETS: Do not overload the electrical outlets. We suggest bringing food in slow cookers/crockpots versus using Nesco roasters (maximum of 1 Nesco per outlet). If an outlet blows, press the re-set button. |
